Desert:  (noun) Area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil. 

No one can live in the desert for a long period of time because it is a very hot and dry place.

HEALTHY SNACK:

Cactus Snack!

You will need: 

  • 1 green apple
  • Toothpicks 
  • Raspberries

Directions:

  • Cut half a green apple in slices, keep the other half whole 
  • Use toothpicks to create a cactus 
  • Grab 2 raspberries and use small toothpicks to stick them on top like cactus flowers.

Enjoy your cactus snack!

Landscape Photographer: Landscape photographyshows spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times tiny, or microscopic.Landscape photographstypically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances oflandscapes.

Career Examples: Freelance photographer, photo editor, creative designer, photo studio assistant, staff photographer.

Salary Average: $56,000 per year

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

What you’ll need:  

  • Cupcake baking pan (metal or aluminum) 
  • A Lego 
  • Ice  
  • A wooden block  
  • A rock  
  • Butter 
  • A cube of cheese  
  • A marble  
  • A quarter  
  • A square of Hershey’s chocolate  
  • Three crayons 
  • A cube cut off a bar of soap  

Instructions:

  1. Place each object in the pan making sure they are as separated as possible (as shown in the picture above)  
  2. Place pan outside and set timer for no less than 10 minutes  
  3. Share your results with us! Using #ClubAtHome
