  3. This will make it soft enough to paint on Spidey’s eyes.
  4. Use a toothpick to draw two pointed ovals, curving upward, on each strawberry.
  5. Dip another toothpick in the black gel food coloring and outline the frosting eyes.
  6. Set aside for 5 minutes to set.
CAREER OF THE DAY:

The United States Marine Corps (also known as USMC) is one of the five branches of the military of the United States in the United States Department of Defense. It was created in 1775 as a special maritime service. Samuel Nicholas founded it. He was the first commissioned office in the Corps. The birthplace of the Marines is in Philadelphia at the Tun Tavern. Although it is part of the U.S. Naval Service, it is a separate military branch with its own special ranking structure.

The Marines have been involved in many conflicts, and had important roles in key battles. Every Marine receives infantry training to be ready for battle at all times. Marine Corps training is also known for being especially challenging; at 13 weeks long, Marine Recruit Training is the longest basic training of the four military branches. United States Marines place a large emphasis on morale. This is reflected in their motto, semper fidelis (meaning “always faithful”).

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

When someone needs help, a superhero always steps in to save them! In this challenge, the superhero must get through the “lasers” to save the prisoner from the villain!

Materials: string, strong tape or a place to tie the string between, something to be the prisoner (stuffed animal, ball, etc.)

Instructions: Set the prisoner on one side of the space. Tape or tie string at varying angles and heights across the space having them intersect occasionally. Now, the superhero must get through the obstacles without touching the string, or lasers, and then save the prisoner and bring them back through the lasers. See how fast you can do it!
