ELEMENTARY ENGAGEMENT GUIDE

FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 2020

WORD OF THE DAY:

Strength:  (noun)  the quality or state of being physically strong.

It takes great strength to lift heavy objects.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

-MALCOLM X
HEALTHY SNACK:

It’s Juneteenth!

During “Peace, Love & Harmony Week” we are celebrating all things “Juneteenth!”

Today is officially Juneteenth so we are celebrating with our favorite snacks!

CAREER OF THE DAY:

Occupational Therapists are health care professionals who utilize evidence-based practice, research, scientific evidence, and a holistic perspective to promote independence, meaningful occupations, and patients’ functional ability to fulfill their daily routines and roles.

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

It’s JUNETEENTH! Short for June Nineteenth, which marks the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865. We challenge you to help host a family meal and think of foods with red hues, as red symbolizes ingenuity and resilience in bondage. We are having red velvet cake! Also think of other foods that are common for the celebration and gather with family to share what you have learned. Be sure to share some of your meal with us by using #BGCCPatHome on your social media posts!
