WORD OF THE DAY:

Today’s word of the day is Cells and a few interesting facts about them are explained in the acrostic poem below.  

Carrying out important functions like taking in nutrients from food and providing structure for the body.  

Entire human body is composed of about a trillion cells 

Living things including plants are made up of cells 

Longest cells in the human body are the motor neurons  

Systems and tissues are formed when cells are grouped together

HEALTHY SNACK:

Marshmallow Apple Smiles 

Items needed: 

  1. Apple slices  
  2. Creamy peanut butter  
  3. Miniature marshmallows 

Directions Spread 2 apple slices with 1/2 tsp. peanut butter.  Top 1 of those apple slices with 7 marshmallows; cover with the remaining apple slice, peanut butter sides down. Enjoy!

CAREER OF THE DAY:

The career for today is a dentist. Did you know there is more than one type of dentist? Here is a video where we can learn about the different types and what they do. Grab your healthy snack and take a look.

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

Today’s Challenge is to make kindness rocks! Grab a rock and some paint and create beautiful rock with a positive message that you can then share with a friend or a stranger. Take a picture of your kindness rock and share with us using the hashtags #KindnessRocks #ClubAtHome
