ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

On July 20, 1976 Hank Aaron hits 755th and last home run. Henry Louis Aaron, nicknamed “Hammer” or “Hammerin‘ Hank,” is an American retired Major League Baseball right fielder who serves as the senior vice president of the Atlanta Braves. In 1982 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

 

IT'S A CELEBRATION:

July 20th is National Lollipop Day!

George Smith, owner of Bradley Smith Company, claims he invented and patented the idea of putting candy on a stick in 1931. Some say George named the Lollipop after his favorite racehorse “Lolly Pop”. History tells us ancient peoples across the world ate honey off of sticks, the earliest precursor to the lollipop. Lollipop is also referred to as a sucker, a sticky pop, or a lollyHow can you celebrate National Lollipop Day?
