Old Navy awards grant to Jack Minges Teen Center

Teens at our Jack Minges Club had a ribbon cutting ceremony recently to reveal upgrades to their space courtesy of Old Navy! Impressed with initiatives taken by teens on projects such as their Community Closet, Old Navy made the decision to extend their generosity with an additional $10,000 grant to maintain upkeep of the closet as well as further inspire our young people to reach their full potential through creative outlets, innovation and self-expression.

Through the grant, upgrades were made to multiple parts of the Teen Center. The Lounge got new decor including furniture to create study areas where teens can gather with their peers, the Pro Room got new furniture and equipment that will further allow them to conduct meetings and navigate the workforce readiness experiences offered. The highlight of the project was the Tech Room upgrade which included a podcast studio area with new equipment, a circuit machine and a heat press!

We are so grateful to the Old Navy team for continuously pouring into Boys & Girls Clubs of America vision for Total Teen Takeover – believing in the potential of our teens and creating spaces where they can learn, grow and thrive. Special thank you to Old Navy staff Carol Hines (Greenville Store Manager) and Zach Bradner (District Manager out of Raleigh), along with Senior Site Coordinator, Anastasia Hunter, who put in countless hours of painting, furniture building and decorating in order to pull this off!
