Jamar Sampson currently serves as the Director of Academic Success for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain. Jamar’s responsibilities include overseeing the Club Academy program in multiple sites as well as developing academic programs/events for K-12 in all three regions. Jamar began his career with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain as a part-time teen director at the Jack Minges Unit. Six months later, he was asked to pilot the Club Academy program in February of 2014. Club Academy is a comprehensive academic success program, specifically addressing early literacy, that targets children in grades K-5 and offers a broad array of services designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic school day. Jamar is known as the “Ron Clark” of the organization due to his fun activities and nontraditional methods he uses in programs and training. Jamar is a graduate from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. He is a proud husband to his wife Fatih and is excited to start his journey of fatherhood in 2020.
